PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Robenacoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor belonging to the coxib class of NSAIDs.
It provides:
Potent anti-inflammatory activity
Effective analgesia
Antipyretic action
Rapid onset of action
Once-daily dosing
Robenacoxib preferentially accumulates in inflamed tissues while maintaining a relatively short residence time in blood.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Administer orally.
Dogs
1–2 mg/kg body weight once daily
Cats
1–2 mg/kg body weight once daily
Treatment duration:
Osteoarthritis: According to clinical response.
Post-operative pain: Up to 3–6 days, depending on the procedure and veterinary assessment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in:
Animals with gastrointestinal ulceration
Severe hepatic impairment
Severe renal disease
Cardiac insufficiency
Animals hypersensitive to NSAIDs
Do not administer with corticosteroids or other NSAIDs.
SPECIAL WARNINGS
Ensure adequate hydration before treatment.
Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged administration.
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest appropriate duration.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Occasionally:
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Reduced appetite
Lethargy
Rarely:
Gastrointestinal ulceration
Renal dysfunction
Hepatic dysfunction
Hypersensitivity reactions
Discontinue treatment if serious adverse effects occur.
USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Use only according to the benefit-risk assessment of the attending veterinarian.
OVERDOSE
Overdosage may result in:
Gastrointestinal disturbances
Renal impairment
Depression
Dehydration
Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.
STORAGE
Store below 25°C.
Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
Keep in the original package.
