PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic with primarily bacteriostatic activity.

It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. Clindamycin achieves high concentrations in skin, bone, oral tissues, and abscesses, making it particularly useful for dermatological, dental, and musculoskeletal infections.

or

11 mg/kg once daily

Treatment duration:

  • Skin infections: 7–14 days

  • Dental infections: 7–10 days

Cats

11–12 mg/kg once daily

For toxoplasmosis:

10–12 mg/kg twice daily for 14–28 days, according to veterinary judgment.
