Each tablet contains:

WAPAMOX® 50

Amoxicillin (as Amoxicillin Trihydrate) ............ 40 mg

Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) ....... 10 mg

WAPAMOX® 250

Amoxicillin (as Amoxicillin Trihydrate) ............ 200 mg

Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) ....... 50 mg

WAPAMOX® 500

Amoxicillin (as Amoxicillin Trihydrate) ............ 400 mg

Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) ....... 100 mg

INDICATIONS

WAPAMOX® is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, including:

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Wounds and abscesses

  • Pyoderma

  • Respiratory tract infections

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Gastrointestinal bacterial infections

  • Dental infections

  • Periodontal disease

  • Reproductive tract infections


SPECTRUM OF ACTIVITY

Effective against susceptible strains of:

  • Staphylococcus spp.

  • Streptococcus spp.

  • Escherichia coli

  • Pasteurella multocida

  • Proteus mirabilis

  • Klebsiella spp.

  • Actinomyces spp.

  • Clostridium spp.

  • Bordetella bronchiseptica

  • Salmonella spp.


DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Administer orally.

Recommended dose:

12.5–25 mg/kg body weight (combined active ingredients) twice daily for 5–7 days, or as directed by the veterinarian.

Treatment may be extended for chronic infections according to the veterinarian's judgment.


CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or beta-lactam antibiotics.

Do not administer to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, or other small herbivores.


WARNINGS

Treatment should be based on bacterial culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing whenever possible.

Use antimicrobials responsibly to reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance.


ADVERSE REACTIONS

Occasionally:

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Soft stools

  • Reduced appetite

  • Allergic reactions (rare)

Discontinue treatment if hypersensitivity occurs.


USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Use only according to the benefit-risk assessment by the attending veterinarian.


DRUG INTERACTIONS

Use with caution when administered together with:

  • Bacteriostatic antibiotics

  • Allopurinol

  • Probenecid


WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

Not applicable.
