COMPOSITION

Each 1 mL contains:

• Vitamin E (dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate) ............. 50 mg

• Selenium (as Sodium Selenite) ....................... 1 mg

INDICATIONS

VITASEL® is indicated for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin E and Selenium deficiencies and as supportive therapy for:

• White Muscle Disease (Nutritional Muscular Dystrophy)

• Reduced fertility in males and females

• Retained placenta

• Poor conception rates

• Weak newborn animals

• Stress associated with transportation, vaccination and heat

• Reduced immunity

• Growth retardation

• Muscular weakness

• Recovery after illness

• Improvement of reproductive performance

• Support during intensive production

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Vitamin E

A powerful lipid-soluble antioxidant that:

• Protects cell membranes

• Reduces oxidative stress

• Enhances immune function

• Improves reproductive performance

• Supports muscle integrity

Selenium

An essential trace element that forms part of glutathione peroxidase, contributing to:

• Cellular antioxidant defense

• Muscle metabolism

• Fertility

• Immune competence

• Prevention of nutritional muscular degeneration

The combination provides synergistic antioxidant protection and supports growth, fertility and productivity.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Administer by deep intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.

Repeat after 3–4 weeks if necessary or according to the veterinarian's recommendation.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to Vitamin E, Selenium or any component of the formulation.

Do not exceed the recommended dose because Selenium has a narrow safety margin.

SPECIAL WARNINGS

Use only at the recommended dosage.

Avoid repeated administration without veterinary supervision.

Do not combine with other Selenium-containing products unless total Selenium intake has been assessed.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Occasionally:

• Mild swelling at the injection site

• Temporary pain

Overdosage may result in signs consistent with Selenium toxicity.

USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Can be used during pregnancy and lactation under veterinary supervision and according to the recommended dosage.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Compatible with most:

• Antibiotics

• Vitamin preparations

• Mineral supplements

• Supportive therapies

Do not mix with other injectable products in the same syringe unless compatibility has been demonstrated.

OVERDOSE

Excess Selenium may cause:

• Depression

• Dyspnea

• Weakness

• Gastrointestinal disturbances

• Death in severe cases

Treat symptomatically.
