INDICATIONS
CALPHOVIA® is indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus deficiencies, including:
Milk Fever (Parturient Paresis)
Hypocalcaemia
Subclinical Hypocalcaemia
Grass Tetany (Hypomagnesaemia)
Downer Cow Syndrome
Periparturient Metabolic Disorders
Pregnancy Toxaemia (Supportive Therapy)
Weakness after Calving
Poor Muscle Function
Reduced Feed Intake
Recovery after Transport or Stress
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
CALPHOVIA® provides a balanced combination of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and Vitamin D₃.

Restores normal blood calcium concentration
Improves neuromuscular function
Supports cardiac contraction
Essential for milk production
Magnesium
Prevents neuromuscular excitability
Supports enzyme activity
Essential in the prevention of grass tetany

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Administer by slow intravenous injection or subcutaneous injection.
Adult Cattle & Buffaloes

Treatment may be repeated after 12–24 hours if required according to the veterinarian's assessment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in animals with:
Hypercalcaemia
Severe renal impairment
Known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
SPECIAL WARNINGS
Warm the solution to approximately body temperature before administration.
Intravenous injection must be administered slowly while monitoring heart rate.
Rapid intravenous administration may result in cardiac arrhythmias or cardiac arrest.
Use aseptic injection techniques.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Occasionally:
Mild swelling at the injection site
Transient discomfort
Rarely:
Cardiac arrhythmias following excessively rapid IV administration
Allergic reactions
USE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Safe for use during pregnancy and lactation when administered according to veterinary recommendations.
Particularly recommended around calving and kidding in animals at risk of metabolic disorders.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Do not administer simultaneously with:
Digitalis glycosides
Solutions containing incompatible phosphates
Strong alkaline injectable preparations
Consult compatibility data before mixing with other injectable products.
OVERDOSE
Excessive administration may cause:
Hypercalcaemia
Bradycardia
Cardiac arrhythmias
Muscle weakness
Treatment should be discontinued immediately and supportive therapy instituted if overdose occurs.

Meat: Zero days*
Milk: Zero days*

STORAGE
Store below 25°C.
Protect from direct sunlight.
Do not freeze.
Keep the vial in the original carton.
SHELF LIFE
36 months before opening.
Use within 28 days after first broaching (subject to stability studies).
